Sun (Tai Yang)
太陽 · Zi Wei Dou Shu Star
Sun (Tai Yang, 太陽) is a major star representing nobility, altruism, and the drive to shine outward within your life simulation.
Overview
The Sun star functions as the primary source of light and energy in your character map, embodying a spirit of selfless giving, authority, and public service. It is a star of nobility rather than direct wealth, often compelling those under its influence to prioritize reputation, status, and the well-being of the collective over personal financial accumulation.
Like a celestial body, its efficacy shifts based on its position in your life simulation—a concept we call brightness levels. When positioned in bright zones, it radiates confidence and leadership; when in dim or sunken zones, the energy becomes more internal or laborious, requiring extra effort to gain recognition or maintain steady momentum.
Strengths
- Natural leadership and charisma
- Frank, open, and honorable personality
- Selfless dedication to helping others
- Strong ambition and sense of purpose
Watch-outs
- Tendency toward excessive worry
- Prone to being overly ego-driven or prideful
- Risk of burnout from constant external focus
- Potential for lack of follow-through when in dim positions
In different situations
Brightness and Dimness
When bright, the Sun brings vitality and successful career growth. When dim, it indicates a more arduous path where one must work harder to achieve consistent results.
Sun at the Rabbit Palace
Known as the Rising Sun pattern, this represents a life of high energy, early success, and great potential for fame.
Sun at the Horse Palace
This brilliant position acts like a mid-day sun, conferring authoritative power suitable for leadership in politics, law, or military-style roles.
Sun and Giant Gate
A combination that uses the Sun's light to illuminate the obscurities of the Giant Gate (Ju Men, 巨門), favoring careers in law, diplomacy, or education.
Sun and Heavenly Beam
This pairing emphasizes justice and public office, creating a principled individual often involved in audit, medicine, or institutional administration.
Sun and Lunar Star
Representing the combination of Father and Mother energy, this suggests high adaptability, though it can create a dualistic personality or a life of shifting cycles.
The Academic Pattern
When the Sun meets Heavenly Beam (Tian Liang, 天梁), Literary Star (Wen Chang, 文昌), and Wealth Cache (Lu Cun, 祿存), it forms a prime configuration for success in standardized exams and official certifications.
Sun and Lunar Inverse
A configuration where the Sun and Lunar Star (Tai Yin, 太陰) are out of their natural rhythm, often indicating a life of hard work away from home, though it can lead to unique breakthroughs in unconventional fields.
