Eight Deities · Element: Fire · Inauspicious
Teng She (螣蛇), the Soaring Serpent, is a Qimen Dunjia (奇門遁甲) deity of worry, illusion, twists and strange events.
Overview
The Eight Deities (Ba Shen, 八神) are the "spirit" layer of a Qimen chart: the hidden forces and helpers behind an event. Teng She coils and shifts: plans get tangled, rumours spread and the mind fills with worry or odd dreams.
It also rules imagination and creative tricks. In the life simulation, it is the illusion spell: confusing, but powerful in clever hands.

Frequently asked questions
What does shen_she mean in Qimen Dunjia?
Shen_she (Shen She, 蛇) is a deity associated with changeability and unpredictability. It represents falsehood, illusion, and repeated changes.
Is shen_she good or bad?
It is generally a cautionary sign rather than simply good or bad. It points to possible deception, confusion, or situations that keep changing.
How might shen_she show up in a chart or decision?
In a chart, shen_she can suggest that appearances or spoken assurances may not be reliable, or that unexpected disruptions could arise. Treat a decision involving it as changeable, not settled.
What should I do when shen_she appears?
Avoid relying on verbal promises alone, and prepare more than one backup plan. Stay alert to sudden interference; a life simulation can help you explore possibilities, but it does not remove uncertainty.
