Kai Men · Open Door
開門 · Qian palace (乾)
Eight Doors · Element: Metal · Auspicious
Kai Men (開門), the Open Door, is the most auspicious of the Eight Doors in Qimen Dunjia (奇門遁甲), governing new starts, careers, launches and official matters.
Overview
In Qimen Dunjia the Eight Doors (Ba Men, 八門) describe human affairs: what people are doing and how a situation will move. Kai Men sits in the Qian (乾) palace in the northwest and belongs to Metal. It is the door of opening: starting a business, taking a new job, meeting officials, signing a launch.
When it appears in your chart or in the direction you act from, the way forward is open. In the life simulation, it is the "new quest unlocked" door.
Strengths
- Best door for job hunting, promotions and starting a business.
- Supports meetings with bosses, officials and clients.
- Brings visibility and public recognition.
Watch-outs
- Weakened if it sits in a palace that clashes with its Metal (such as Li, Fire).
- Opening too many fronts at once can scatter results.
- Not a door for hiding or keeping secrets.
